Part 1 RCM of Equipment Using Gym Equipment Examples

Seeing as how I’ve mentioned in posts and newsletters that we are using RCM (Classical – NAVSEA) in the development of our maintenance program at the 2XL Powerlifting and MotorDoc LLC offices, it provides an opportunity to outline the process using a relatively simple example. In this first part, we will discuss the functions and impact of functional failure in a squat monolift. The one we are using was used in the ESPN World Powerlifting Organization Finals (and will be again this October) and in the video on the reliability and maintenance of a gym of this type: https://motordoc.com/reliability-and-maintenance-of-a-fitness-facility/

I had one of my Saturday crew take a video of a monolift in action while we were warming up on January 25, 2020:

In the following video we outline the functions of the parts related to this equipment. In the next presentation we will go through the steps and process of RCM, including setting parameters for inspections. The steps and processes will be included in our UpKeep CMMS (https://www.onupkeep.com/)
